Workforce Development/Work-Stream Program
Prepares out-of-school youths and young adults with physical,
sensory or learning disabilities for employment, and provides a paid
work experience leading to job placement. Services include life and
job readiness instruction, job development and job coaching. Those
eligible are young people with disabilities, ages 17 to 30, who live
in Philadelphia. (Part of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs
Coalition)

entry level jobs, we offer the training you need to improve your

OVR believes that with the right services, the right job match,
and the right accommodations, people with severe disabilities can
become part of the workforce.
Transition from School to Work
Any high school student with a disability who may need vocational
guidance and assistance in pursuing employment should be considered
for referral to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
These would include students who have an Individualized Education
Program (IEP), students who are covered under Chapter 15
("Protected Handicapped Students"), and any other students
with disabilities who may or may not require specialized services in
school.

Jobs for Older Adults: The Mature Workers Task Force:
A coalition of non-profit organizations, coordinated by PCA,
which advocates on behalf of older workers in Philadelphia and
offers employment and training services. From resume writing tips
and honing interviewing skills, to job clubs and employment search
techniques, older adults receive cutting-edge information and
innovative instruction to help prepare them to reenter the
