Basic Skills and Literacy
Adult Evening High School Program
Formerly operated by the School District of Philadelphia, is now managed by the Community College of Philadelphia at Northeast and Benjamin Franklin High Schools. Classes start Tuesday, October 2, 2001 and end on January 31, 2002. In-person registration will take place between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at:

Center for Literacy
The Center For Literacy is the nation's largest and Pennsylvania's oldest community-based, non-profit adult literacy organization. Since 1968, the Center has helped thousands of individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency, economic potential and self-esteem with instruction in reading, writing, math and English as a second language.
Community College of Philadelphia
The Center on Disability at the Community College provides accommodations and support to all qualified students with disabilities. Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Center at (215) 751-8050. The College is an open-admission, associate-degree-granting institution which provides access to higher education for all who may benefit.
Even Start
Even Start is an adult education, parent education, and preschool program for adults who wish to earn a GED or improve their basic literacy skills.
Twi-Lite Schools
Twi-Lite schools are designed for students between the ages of 17 and 24. Classes are located in a number of comprehensive high schools throughout the city. Classes meet from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and provide an accelerated, alternative setting for over aged and under credentialed students who want to earn a high school diploma.
Students earn high school credits through a combination of classroom instruction and school-related experiences such as work-based learning, service learning, and employment. For a list of current Twi-Lite School locations click here.
Enrichment and Cultural
Community College of Philadelphia - new special programs in Computer applications, Art, and Music. Co-sponsored by Philadelphia Mental Retardation Services (MRS).
Personal Wellness course - Mt. Airy Learning Tree offers over 200 adult classes with 1.400 students in locations throughout Northwest Philadelphia. They are particularly open and welcoming to students with disabilities. Visit their website to see their catalog. Contact them at:

Settlement Music School
